After graduating this Fall with degrees in computer science and psychology, CUbiC undergraduate researcher Shantanu Bala will be pursuing haptics research through the Thiel Fellowship. The $100,000 fellowship, awarded each year to 20 students under the age of 20, will also provide Shantanu with a network of mentors and resources that will help him continue his pursuit of cutting-edge research for two years. During that time, Shantanu plans to continue developing haptic technologies with the goal of designing new multimodal computer interfaces. He will continue his work at CUbiC with the help and support of mentors and advisors from the Thiel Fellowship's large community of scientists and entrepreneurs.
