Abstract:

Simulators are an expected part of training in other professions but are not yet established in Orthopaedic Trauma. Drilling is a basic surgical skill that must be acquired by all orthopaedic surgeons and was felt to be a relatively uncomplicated skill to begin development of a motor skills simulator. The goal of this project was to develop a virtual drilling simulator that can be used for orthopaedic motor skills training.
