CUbiC was recently featured on the television segment Arizona Horizon hosted by Ted Simmons on Arizona PBS. In this segment, Simmons interviewed CUbiC director, Dr. Sethuraman 'Panch' Panchanathan, on our center’s research and vision for people and technology. During the interview, Panch gave an overview of CUbiC’s research on the interaction between people and the technology around them. When asked about how the center applied machine learning and pattern reconigition, Panch mentions that machines we develop are “essentially learning from what is already being done right now... and humans can then start to focus on other tasks while machines are doing the tasks that they would normally have done otherwise”. He also describes what Human-Computer Interaction and Haptics mean to CUbiC and how we are advancing these areas in our research, among other fields.
