CUbiC Graduate Researcher Elected President of the Arizona Association of Blind Students

Bryan Duarte, a PhD student researcher at CUbiC, is currently serving as the president of the Arizona Association of Blind Students (AABS). Bryan will head a newly elected board and will work to increase student awareness, and attract new members. Bryan also aims to increase the participation of Arizona students at the National Federation of the Blind convention, Washington seminar, as well as expand the annual AABS seminar.

The Arizona Association of Blind Students is a division of the National Association of Blind Students, which is an affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind. AABS promotes equal educational opportunities for students with vision impairments and promotes training in travel, living skills and utilization of technology. AABS provides a forum for students to network, share experiences, and meet role models who have excelled in university and beyond.
