We are very sad to hear that CUbiC alumnus, Guhaprakash Amudhan, passed away on April 9 after a long battle with brain cancer. Guha completed his Masters thesis on "Algorithmic Developments and complexity analysis of 2D mesh based MPEG–4 coding" at CUbiC in 2003. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. His memories will continue to live on with us.
CUbiC director, Dr Panchanathan, fondly recalled Guha as a highly motivated, hardworking student, who despite the challenges faced owing to his health condition, was highly dedicated to his work and intellectual pursuits. His tenacity, perseverance and courage to achieve academic excellence will serve as a shining example for other CUbiC students and researchers.
