The iCare Project Reader

We propose to present a poster describing our iReader project, which involves three phases. Phase 1 (which has already been implemented) provides a table-based reader which is suitable for deployment in libraries, and which allows people who are blind to read books. Phase 2 provides a portable version of the reader, which can be carried by the user to a location of his/her choosing. Phase 3 provides a wearable reader device, which will permit the user to read free text, including signage, restaurant menus, vending machines, etc.
