CUbiC Ph.D. Student Researcher, Rita Chattopadhyay, received the Computer Science Outstanding Ph.D. Student of the Year Award in the School of Computing, Informatics and Decision Systems Engineering.
Chattopadhyay’s dissertation addresses the problem of subject based variability in physiological and biomedical data and proposes person adaptive prediction models based on novel transfer and active learning algorithms. The frameworks of the dissertation can be viewed as a first step towards design of automated adaptive systems for real world data, enabling deployment of machine learning algorithm.
